Karen's April Polka Dot Card Challenge

Karen is hosting a challenge over at My Sketch World this month to use something polka dot on your card.  I found a sketch of Lucy's and made this card.  I not only used two different print papers with polka dots, my brad is also polka dots.

The products that I used are:

Sassafras Sunshine Lollipops Wee Bundle
Offray Ribbon
Bazzill Happy Birthday Rub-on
EK label punch
Bazzill cardstock
Color Box Chestnut Roan chalk
Flowers & brad from my stash

This sketch from Lucy

This was a fun sketch and I liked being able to use up some things that I have had for quite some time.  I really liked that little paper pad when I bought it several years ago, so I am glad that I used it.

Thanks for stopping by.

Nik's Ombre Card Challenge

Nicole put up a challenge over at My Sketch World to make an Ombre card.  This was a fun challenge, I wanted to do it but wasn't sure what I was going to do.  I went in to my scrap room and looked at my paper trays and these oranges just jumped out at me.  I pulled the paper and picked out my border punch and left it on my desk while I went to work yesterday.  As I was thinking about it during the day I thought that a black background would make make it pop.  I really like the way it turned out.  I also decided to add the sentiment on a tag.

The products that I used for this card were:

Bazzill Cardstock (the oranges are bling, and black is plain)
Martha Stewart border punch
American Crafts Mini Mark Rub-On
Flowers and brad from my stash.

Thanks for looking.

Birthday Card using Unscripted #205 Sketch

This week I was checking out the sketch over at unscripted sketches and decided to try out a sizzix die that I bought sometime ago and have not ever used.  It is more like ric-rac than chevrons, but I think that it did the job.  This is the sketch:

And this is what I did with it. I was using this paper that my daughter bought for me when the crafty cash mob was up at Treasured Memories in Oak Park a few weeks ago.  I am trying to stock up on my birthday cards and thought that this sketch was perfect for that.

Supplies used:

Little Yellow Bicycle - just because 6x6 paper pad
Sizzix decorative strips die
Stampin' Up scalloped circle punch
Creative Memories circle cutter
Hero Arts Clear Design Birthday Messages
Memento Tuxedo Black ink

Embossing Card Challenge at MSW

I am hosting a card challenge over at My Sketch World this month.  The challenge is to use embossing on your card, it can be dry or wet embossing as long as it is embossing.

This is the card that I made as my sample:

I had fun making this card.  I used Bazzill cardstock and My Minds Eye Collectable "Notable" 6x6 pad.  I cut all the banners with MFT Dienamics Fishtail Flag Stax and the label from MFT Layered Label.  The Happy Birthday stamp is from Hero Arts and I used Versa Mark Ink and WOW Earthtone Pepper Embossing powder.  I embossed my blue background paper with my Cuttlebug Polka Dot embossing folder.  I used brads from my stash, inked the edges with Color Box Chestnut Roan chalk and put it all together with my ATG 714 gun.

I hope that you will come by and join us for this challenge.  I will be offering up an RAK to a random winner at the end of the month.
